$49,600 OTF Seed Grant Supports Active Living for Seniors
Markham, ON – Chinese Leisure Sports Association is celebrating a $49,600 Seed grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to strengthen active living and social connections for low-income seniors.
Over 12 months, the project is training 24 intergenerational volunteer coaches and creating accessible recreational and social opportunities for more than 120 low-income seniors. Through professional training and community activities, volunteer coaches are developing the skills and confidence needed to support seniors in staying physically active, building friendships, and becoming more connected with their community.
The project also strengthens long-term community capacity by developing a team of trained volunteers who can continue supporting accessible recreational opportunities beyond the grant period.
Chinese Leisure Sports Association is grateful to the Ontario government and OTF for this investment, which is helping seniors enjoy healthier, more active lifestyles while building stronger and more connected communities.

MPP Billy Pang to Join Chinese Leisure Sports Association to Celebrate the Province’s Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant Support for Seniors
