About CLSA
The Chinese Leisure Sports Association (CLSA) of Canada is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting recreational and amateur sports within one of the largest and fastest-growing communities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Our mission is to foster an inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and skill levels can engage in various leisure sports activities, enhancing both physical well-being and community connections.
Mission
We were founded by passionate sports enthusiasts who recognized the power of recreational sports to bring people together, expand social networks, and strengthen community bonds. For many Chinese immigrants, sports provide not only a path to healthier living but also a bridge to overcome isolation, make friends, and connect with other cultural groups in Canada.
Our mission is to create accessible opportunities for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to participate in recreational sports, fostering physical fitness, mental well-being, and meaningful social connections. We believe sports are a universal language, a way for newcomers and long-time residents alike to share experiences, celebrate diversity, and unite across cultural differences.
Through community tournaments, training programs, and wellness workshops, we cultivate a culture of health and inclusion that benefits both Chinese Canadians and the wider community. By removing financial and cultural barriers, we empower seniors, youth, and families to embrace active lifestyles that support long-term physical and mental health while strengthening community ties.
We envision a vibrant, inclusive environment where Chinese Canadians and people of all cultural backgrounds come together through sports to build healthier bodies, stronger minds, and lasting friendships.
